Short Story

Theodora is a 31-year-old woman, who was perfectly healthy up until recently. Her life however turned upside down one and a half year ago, when she suddenly collapsed due to a ruptured brain aneurism. The young woman had to be subjected to 8 brain surgeries and to remain hospitalized in the ICU for a long period of time, before she was finally transferred to the rehabilitation center where she remains to this day. Thanks to your defining support, we managed to ensure her stay at the center for the past 8 months, while we also settled the cost of the cranioplasty that she was successfully subjected to a few months ago. However, Theodora is not ready to return home just yet.

We keep on fighting for Theodora, the young teacher who has suffered a ruptured aneurism!

Campaign Story

Theodora is a 31-year-old woman, who was perfectly healthy up until recently. Her life however turned upside down one and a half year ago, when she suddenly collapsed due to a ruptured brain aneurism. The young woman had to be subjected to 8 brain surgeries and to remain hospitalized in the ICU for a long period of time, before she was finally transferred to the rehabilitation centre where she remains to this day.

Thanks to your defining support, we managed to ensure her stay at the centre for the past 8 months, while we also settled the cost of the cranioplasty that she was successfully subjected to a few months ago. However, Theodora is not ready to return home just yet. When she was first admitted to the centre, she was in pretty bad shape, since she wasn’t able to move her extremities or communicate with her surroundings. Today however, she can speak and take a few steps with the help of her physiotherapist! And we owe that all to you, who have given this young woman a second chance in life! The Act of Kindness organization has been by this family’s side since day one, while our multidisciplinary staff has been in constant communication with the medical staff of the rehabilitation centre.

Theodora has made great progress, and it would be a major setback to quit on her treatments now. Treatments that she cannot yet receive at home, since the targeted rehabilitation program she is subjected to, includes the use of state of the art robotic equipment. In addition, the young teacher needs to be immediately subjected to an orthopedic surgery to her legs, while she also requires the proper orthopedic equipment that will allow her to be more self-sufficient.

Theodora is a true fighter, who has been struggling for the past one and a half years, with commendable courage and persistence, in order to get back on her feet! However, she needs our help in order to keep on fighting. Together, we can extend her stay at the rehabilitation center and offer her the chance to win this battle!

You too can support our new aid campaign for Theodora! Any contribution can make a great difference!
